The Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame offers exhibits which celebrate the achievements and history of Michigan women, including members of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame. Additionally, the Center contains an art gallery with changing exhibits displaying the work of outstanding Michigan women artists and photographers. The Cooley-Haze House, where the Center is located, is on the State Register of Historic Places. The Center was the first of its kind in the nation and is administered by the Michigan Women's Studies Association, Inc., founded in 1973 to improve what is thought and taught about women in Michigan schools and universities.

Group tours of the Center can be arranged both during and after hours when scheduled in advance. A typical tour lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Maximum group size is 50. A chaperone is required for every 12 students.

Hours: Wednesday-Friday Noon-5:00 p.m., Saturday Noon-4:00 p.m., Sunday 2:00-4:00 p.m. The Center is closed on major holidays.

Admission
: $2.50 adults; $l.00 students (5-18 yrs); $2.00 seniors. If a group numbers 10 or more, the adult fee is reduced to $2.00 per person.

Parking: A free city lot is located on the east side of the Center and can accommodate cars, vans, or buses.

Shopping: The Center maintains a gift shop featuring books, T-shirts, mugs, and other items relating to Michigan women's history.

Dining: The city-owned Cooley Gardens, just to the west of the Center, provides a beautiful picnic area for groups.
