The Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame offers exhibits
which celebrate the achievements and history of Michigan women,
including members of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame. Additionally,
the Center contains an art gallery
with changing exhibits displaying the work of
outstanding Michigan women artists. Group tours of
the Center can be arranged both during and after hours when scheduled in
advance. A typical tour lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Maximum group size
is 40. A chaperone is required for every 8 students. Please contact the

Directions:
Take I-496 to Lansing and get off at the
Walnut/Pine Streets exit.
The Historical Center is located in a large yellow house on the south
side of Malcolm X Street (formerly Main Street), between Townsend Street and Capitol Avenue.

Wednesday-Saturday
12 noon-4:00 p.m.
and the 1st Sunday of every month 2:00-4:00
p.m. The Center is
closed on major holiday
weekends. Flexible times are available with
advance group reservations.
Admission:
$2.50 adults; $l.00 students (5-18 yrs); $2.00
seniors.
Parking:
A free, city-owned
lot is located on the
east side of the Center
and can accommodate cars, vans, or
buses.
Shopping:
The Center maintains a gift shop featuring
books, T-shirts, mugs, and other items relating to Michigan women's
history.
Dining:
The city-owned Cooley Gardens,
just to the west of the Center, provides
a beautiful picnic area for groups. |
