Not Just a Man's War: Michigan Women and the Civil War
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, discover the unique contributions made by Michigan women. Michigan women were on the frontline during the Civil War serving as as nurses in hospitals and on the battlefield. Some bold women even disguised themselves as men to serve in battle. And then there is the story of the home front, which did not remain static during the four long years of war. Women took on new roles and responsibilities left behind by men: they ran businesses, tended farms, raised families, and sent their support in the form of supplies, letters, and money-- often not knowing the condition of their soldier husband, father, sweetheart, brother, or son.

Petticoat Patriots: How Michigan Women Won the Vote
This temporary history exhibit explores how the women's suffrage movement unfolded in Michigan and the stories of over 20 Michigan women that became leading suffragists. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the engaging stories, images, and artifacts. The exhibit also features many interactive elements, including a voting booth for students to exercise their suffrage and places for visitors to share their own ideas.

The Michigan Women's Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame features more than 250 historical and contemporary women of Michigan who have been inducted since 1983. Exhibit cases display items related to the newest class of inductees and highlighting individuals in the Hall of Fame.
