The Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame offers exhibits that celebrate the achievements and history of Michigan women, including members of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame. In addition, the Center has an art gallery with changing exhibits featuring the work of outstanding Michigan women artists. Group tours of the Center can be arranged both during and after hours when scheduled in advance. A typical tour lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Maximum group size is 40. A chaperone is required for every 8 students.

Directions: Take I-496 to Lansing and get off at the Walnut/Pine Streets exit. The Historical Center is located in a large yellow house on the south side of Malcolm X Street (formerly Main Street), between Townsend Street and Capitol Avenue. For more detailed directions, we recommend you use Yahoo! Maps and enter your complete starting address in the space provided.

Hours of Operation: Wednesday-Saturday 12 noon-4:00 p.m. and the 1st Sunday of every month 2:00-4:00 p.m. The Center is closed on holiday weekends.

Admission
: $2.50 adults; $1.00 students (5-18 yrs); $2.00 seniors. Children under 5 are free.

Parking: A free, city-owned lot is located on the east side of the Center and can accommodate cars, vans, or buses.

Shopping: The Center maintains a Fair Trade gift shop, now supporting women’s cooperatives in ten different countries. We have unique jewelry, handbags, scarves, and of course, our very popular natural Suffragist Series low-sugar preserves and Sassy Women’s Salsa

Dining: The city-owned Cooley Gardens, just to the west of the Center, provides a beautiful picnic area for groups. The Museum is also located near the many downtown Lansing restaurants on Washington and Michigan Avenues.
