Facility Rental

The Michigan Women’s Historical Center & Hall of Fame is located within the Meridian Mall, inside the Younkers’ Home wing on the north side of the mall. The Michigan Women’s Historical Center is a convenient setting to host meetings and receptions. Rental is for the entire facility (minus office space) or small meeting space located in the back area of the facility. Fees are broken down between private and public rentals.

Special rates are available to sponsors, members, and non-profit organizations.

 

Terms and Conditions of Facility Rental

·       MWHOF cannot supply any staff to coordinate, set-up, clean-up or run the event.

 

·       MWHOF will have one Guest Assistant working that will be seeing to regular museum visitors and closing the museum for the day.

 

·       MWHOF does not supply food, water, coffee, equipment or other supplies such as paper, copying services, catering supplies, etc. for the event.

 

·       Dumpsters for trash and cardboard recycling are located outside the back entrance into the museum.

 

·       MWHOF does not have a sink for washing dishes or utensils nor supplying drinking water.

 

·       Renter may have use of the MWHOF break room for staging food.

 

·       Museum furniture, exhibits, display, and shop displays cannot be moved and we ask that they are not blocked during the event.

 

·       All set-up configurations must meet with ADA compliance giving a minimum 36" clearance for visitors to pass through and fire regulations of not blocking escape routes in case of emergency.

 

·       Event staff must be out of the museum by no later than 8.45pm in preparation for the MWHOF Guest Assistant to close the museum at 9pm.

 

·       Per Meridian Mall regulations: no advertisements of any kind can be displayed outside of the boundaries of the museum store front (i.e. not in the mall walkways) nor can people stand outside of the store front to solicit mall patrons to enter the store or join an event, nor pass out flyers or distribution material of any kind.

 

·       We have tables (6--6ft) and chairs (40) available for your use and can set them up before your arrival. We offer the use of a coffee maker (must provide your own coffee) at no additional cost. A screen and projector with PC hook-ups are also available. The parking lot of the Meridian Mall can accommodate cars, vans, or buses.

 

·       All reservations must be paid in advance and require 3-weeks notice, based on availability.
